The 2nd Annual American Red Cross Cortland County and Tompkins County Real Heroes Breakfast Awards
On May 4, 2012, the American Red Cross, Cortland County and Tompkins County Chapters will honor "Real Heroes" at Tompkins Cortland Community College. These Real Heroes have taken extraordinary action in their community to help another person in life-threatening situation, and in doing so have carried out the mission and principles of the American Red Cross:
- To provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies
- To prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found
- To protect life and health and to ensure respect for human beings
